Get your registered company name inside your certificate
The certificate authority checks that your company legally exists, that it is reachable at a published number, and that it controls the domain — then writes your registered company name into the certificate where a customer, an auditor or a security reviewer can read it.

A domain validated certificate passes the first two lines and fails the third, because there is nothing in it about your company. That third line is why most people are on this page, and it is checked by a scanner rather than by a conversation.

What organisation validation adds
Same encryption. A different subject.
The encryption is identical to a domain validated certificate — same ciphers, same key strength, same padlock. What changes is the subject of the certificate. A domain validated certificate says only which hostname it belongs to. This one says who is behind it, and the authority has checked that against a public register before signing.
Anyone can open the padlock in their browser and read those lines. So can an automated scanner, which is how most security questionnaires end up asking for this.

Is this the right one for you?
The most expensive mistake on this site is buying the wrong shape and finding out at install time. Two lists, and the second one is a route out rather than a dead end.
Buy this if
- Customers log in to your site, or you hold data belonging to them
- A security questionnaire, insurer or enterprise procurement process is involved
- You are a regulated business, or sell to one
- The site represents a registered company rather than a project or a person
- You want a much larger warranty than the domain validated products carry
Look at this instead if
- It is a brochure site, blog or portfolio with no loginsDomain validated
- A policy specifically names extended validationExtended validation
- You need it live this afternoonDomain validated
- You are not a registered company yetDomain validated
Why buyers move off domain validation
Nobody upgrades for the encryption, because it does not change. They upgrade because somebody on the other side of a transaction started asking questions.
- Security questionnaires ask for it by nameEnterprise procurement, insurers and ISO 27001 reviewers routinely expect at least organisation validation on anything with a login. It is a box that gets ticked by a scanner reading your certificate, not by a conversation.
- A domain validated certificate proves nothing about youIt confirms whoever ordered it controlled the domain at the time. That is a real check and it is worth having, but it says nothing about who runs the business — and an attacker on a lookalike domain passes it just as easily as you do.
- The warranty steps up by orders of magnitudeEntry-level domain validated certificates carry ten thousand. The certificates on this page run from tens of thousands to a million and a half. When a contract states a figure, this is the page it is on.
- It is checkable by anyone, at any timeA customer clicks the padlock and reads your registered company name. That is a small thing that costs you nothing per visitor and is worth having on the day somebody looks.

Code signing and personal certificates in this list
This page lists everything in the catalogue that carries organisation validation, and a few of those are not website certificates at all. Code signing certificates are organisation validated in exactly the same way but sign software rather than secure a site, and one email identity certificate matches for the same reason. They are named here rather than mixed into the price comparison, because they answer a different question.
- Certum Enterprise ID · ₹6,400
- Thawte Code Signing CA - G2 · ₹14,900
- Comodo Code Signing Certificate · ₹36,900
- Sectigo Code Signing Certificate · ₹36,900
- Symantec Code Signing Certificate · ₹41,900
How to choose between them
Once you are on the right page the remaining decision is small, and it comes down to three things in this order.
What shape you need first
Organisation validation is a level, not a shape. Every coverage pattern is available with it — single name, wildcard, multi-domain, multi-domain wildcard. Decide what has to be covered, then filter this list to that shape.
Warranty, where a figure has been specified
This is where the warranties genuinely separate, running from tens of thousands to a million and a half. If nobody has asked for a number, it should not be what decides your purchase.
How fast your paperwork is
Validation stalls on details that do not match: a trading name against a registered one, an old address, a phone number that is not in a public directory. If yours are current, one to three working days is realistic. If they are not, fix them first.
Questions we get asked before people order
How long does organisation validation actually take?
One to three working days when your details are in order, and the great majority are. The check is that your company exists on a public register, that its address matches, and that somebody at a listed number can confirm the order. Delays are nearly always a mismatch rather than a backlog.
What documents will I need?
Usually none. The authority prefers to verify against a national company register and an independent directory listing, which it does itself. Where a register is thin, a recent utility bill, bank statement or an accountant’s letter on the company address settles it.
Will somebody really telephone us?
Yes, in most cases — a short call to a number the authority found for itself in a public directory, not one you supplied. If your number is not listed anywhere independent, that is the single most common cause of a slow validation, and it is worth checking before you order.
Our registered details are out of date. What happens?
Validation stalls until they match. Check that the registered name, address and telephone number on your national register agree with a public directory before you order — or send them to us first and we will check them for you at no cost.
Does a visitor see any difference?
Not in the address bar; browsers stopped distinguishing validation levels visually some years ago. The difference is inside the certificate, where anyone who clicks the padlock — or any scanner run by a customer’s security team — can read your company name.
Can I get organisation validation on a wildcard?
Yes, and on a multi-domain certificate, and on a multi-domain wildcard. Validation level and coverage shape are independent choices; the list on this page includes all of those shapes.
The other ways to cover a website
Two of these answer what the certificate has to cover and three answer how much you have to prove about who you are. Every one of them is a full price list like this page.
- Single-domain SSL One name, plus its www — issued in minutes
- Wildcard SSL *.yourdomain.com — unlimited subdomains
- Multi-domain (SAN) SSL Up to 250 unrelated domains on one certificate
- Multi-domain wildcard Several domains, each with all its subdomains
- Organisation validated (OV) Your registered company name inside the certificate
- Extended validation (EV) Legal, physical and operational checks
Send us the hostname list and we will price it
A line about what the site does and which names it answers on is enough. We come back with the cheapest certificate that genuinely covers it — including when that is one certificate instead of the four you were about to buy. No obligation and no sales call.
